Industries we serve

Corrosion protection for the industries that build and power the world.

From ship hulls to offshore wind foundations, our anodes protect steel wherever it meets seawater, fresh water or soil.

Marine and shipbuilding
01 / 09

Marine and shipbuilding

Ships spend their working lives in seawater, and unprotected hull steel corrodes quickly. Sacrificial hull anodes protect the underwater hull, stern area, rudders and sea chests between dry-dockings — on new construction and as replacements during maintenance.

Typical assets
  • Ship hulls and appendages
  • Sea chests and ballast tanks
  • Workboats, tugs and barges
Oil and gas
02 / 09

Oil and gas

Oil and gas assets are designed for long, uninterrupted service, often in aggressive environments. We supply anodes for submerged and buried steelwork across production facilities, terminals and storage — engineered to each project's CP design and specification.

Typical assets
  • Production and process facilities
  • Marine terminals and loading jetties
  • Storage tanks
Offshore structures
03 / 09

Offshore structures

Fixed offshore platforms are among the most demanding CP applications: large submerged surface areas, design lives of decades and very limited access for maintenance. Aluminium stand-off and flush-mounted anodes are the standard solution.

Typical assets
  • Fixed jacket platforms
  • Subsea structures and manifolds
  • Risers and conductors
Pipelines
04 / 09

Pipelines

Pipelines combine high coating quality with long, continuous steel surfaces. Subsea lines are protected with half-shell or segmented bracelet anodes; buried onshore lines in high-resistivity soil typically use magnesium anodes. Our group background in piping materials and pipeline engineering informs every design.

Typical assets
  • Subsea and offshore pipelines
  • Concrete weight-coated pipe
  • Buried onshore pipelines
Ports and harbours
05 / 09

Ports and harbours

Port infrastructure is built to last decades, but steel piles and sheet piling corrode fastest in the splash and tidal zones and below the waterline. Sacrificial anodes provide reliable, low-maintenance protection for the submerged sections.

Typical assets
  • Steel tubular and sheet piles
  • Jetties, berths and dolphins
  • Quay walls and pontoons
Power generation
06 / 09

Power generation

Power plants that draw seawater or fresh water for cooling rely on intake structures, screens, culverts and pipework that stay permanently wet. Correctly designed anodes help protect this equipment and avoid unplanned outages.

Typical assets
  • Cooling-water intakes and outfalls
  • Screens and culverts
  • Condenser water boxes
Water and utilities
07 / 09

Water and utilities

Water storage and distribution assets often sit in fresh water or soil, where electrolyte resistivity is high. Magnesium anodes, with their higher driving voltage, are commonly specified for tanks, reservoirs and buried utility steelwork.

Typical assets
  • Water storage tanks
  • Reservoir and treatment structures
  • Buried utility pipework
Industrial infrastructure
08 / 09

Industrial infrastructure

Industrial plants include many submerged or buried steel assets that don't fit a standard anode. We design and cast custom shapes, retrofit anodes and special configurations to suit the structure and its CP requirement.

Typical assets
  • Process plant steelwork
  • Submerged industrial equipment
  • Retrofit and life-extension projects
Offshore wind
09 / 09

Offshore wind

Offshore wind foundations and substations are designed for decades of service in the North Sea and beyond. RELI ANODES has designed and supplied sacrificial anodes for offshore wind projects including Moray Offshore Windfarm (East) and Seagreen in Scotland.

Typical assets
  • Monopile and jacket foundations
  • Offshore substations
  • Foundation components
