Other anodes

The wider cathodic protection range.

Beyond our core anode products, we supply 128 further anode types across seven categories — from ship fittings and subsea equipment to storage tanks, reinforced concrete and impressed current systems.

Two ways to protect steel

Sacrificial or impressed current?

Every cathodic protection system uses one of two methods. Our range covers both.

Sacrificial (galvanic) anodes

Anodes of zinc, aluminium or magnesium are connected to the steel and corrode in its place, generating their own protective current. No power supply is needed, and the system is simple to install and maintain.

  • Ships, offshore structures and subsea equipment
  • Well-coated pipelines and storage tanks
  • Concrete repairs and smaller structures

Impressed current anodes

A transformer-rectifier drives current through long-life anodes — MMO titanium, high-silicon iron, graphite or platinised materials. A few anodes can protect very large structures, and the output can be adjusted over the life of the system.

  • Long transmission pipelines and tank farms
  • Large marine structures and jetties
  • Bridges, car parks and marine concrete

How to specify

What to include in your enquiry.

The more we know about the structure and its environment, the faster we can confirm the right product.

  • Product name and category from this range
  • Structure, equipment or vessel to be protected
  • Environment — seawater, fresh water, soil or concrete
  • Drawing, dimensions or existing part number
  • Material or specification, if known
  • Quantity and required delivery date
Do you supply all of these products?

Yes. The products listed in these categories are available from RELI ANODES, either from our own manufacturing or through the Reliable Group's supply network. Lead times depend on the product and quantity.

Can you supply to my specification or drawing?

Yes. Send us your drawing, specification or existing part number and we will confirm the material, configuration and lead time.

How do I choose between sacrificial and impressed current anodes?

Sacrificial anodes are simple and need no power supply, which suits smaller or well-coated structures. Impressed current systems suit large structures, high current demands and long design lives. The choice is normally made in the CP design.

Can I order a mix of products from different categories?

Yes. Many projects need anodes from several categories, and we can quote them together.
